A linen dress with hems is a basic element of a woman's clothing, suitable for many areas of early medieval Europe. It can be worn as a standalone gown on sunny summer days, or as a pant gown underneath a warm woolen garment.
It is made according to a simple, early medieval cut, with a rectangular body. The dress has widening wedges sewn from the waist on both sides. Long, tapered sleeves are sewn at right angles to the body. The dress measures approx. 2 m in circumference. It is rather loose and casual. The neckline, sleeves and bottom of the dress are decorated with decorative linen trims, in a color to choose from.
The dress is loose and airy, it looks beautiful tied with a belt or selvedge.
