Birka wool tunic with slit neckline
Birka wool tunic with slit neckline
- The offer includes the tunic only. Please read the product description for size, material, and other information.
Product information
This tunic was made based on an early medieval find from Birka, Sweden. It is a basic T-shaped tunic with additional side gussets. Such tunic is suitable for reenactors from many regions of Europe. The material, color, and finish of the tunic emphasized the status of the wearer.
- The authentic early medieval cut gives the tunic a classic, straight line, complemented by two gussets on the sides, giving it a flowing appearance.
- The historical sleeves provide comfort and freedom of movement thanks to square gussets sewn under the arms, widening the upper part of the tunic. The sleeves taper slightly towards the wrists.
The product is machine-sewn, with edges overlocked in our workshop in Otwock, Poland. Each piece is made to order.

Fabric & color
- This product is made of high-quality sheep wool, with a minimum 80% pure wool content. It is non-sheer and retains its shape. No lining.
- Take a look at available fabrics here.
- Due to the high turnover of fabrics among suppliers, we do not have a fixed color palette and work with materials available in stock. Often, these fabrics, for various reasons—from fabric size to material thickness —are unsuitable for specific products but work well with others. This helps us reduce textile waste and fully utilize the fabrics' potential. This doesn't guarantee the presence or absence of a visible weave, such as a herringbone pattern.
- If you are interested in specific colors or shades, please contact us in advance so we can select the right material.
- Colors may vary slightly due to fabric turnover among suppliers, lighting conditions, and screen settings.
Washing & care instructions
- Hand-wash only in cold water, using special, very gentle detergents designed for natural wool.
- Do not use bleach or stain removers!
- Do not spin dry quickly (it damages the seams and fibers).
- Dry vertically outdoors. Do not tumble dry.
- Can be ironed at a temperature suitable for wool, on a very delicate setting.
Returns & exchanges
- As a handmade workshop, we do not accept returns or exchanges, so please place your orders carefully. Our products are made from hand-cut fabrics, using our own patterns, and with an individual approach to each order. Please respect your time and ours.
- If you have any questions or problems with your order, just let us now!
- If the color or material is not what you expected, we cannot accept returns or exchanges. Please contact us in advance to let us know your preferences in the Fabrics & Colors section. We are not responsible for any mistakes or omissions.
