- Soft, medium-weight green linen apron with a in maroon small diamond twill hems.
The Viking apron is a basic element of clothing not only for Scandinavian, but also for early medieval women in general, worn over the outer dress or directly over the lower dress. The remains of the apron were found at many archaeological sites, including the necropolis of the trading emporium in Hedeby and the necropolis in Birka. They are also confirmed in iconography.
The apron is a finished product. It is made of medium thickness linen. It is sewn according to a simple, early medieval cut. The front has two loops for attaching straps. The length without straps is about 95 cm. It is suspended on braces that are fastened with a tortoise fibula (not included in the set).
All seams are made by machine.
