Early Medieval long linen apron dress with silk
Early Medieval long linen apron dress with silk
- The offer includes the apron dress only. Please read the product description for size, material, and other information.
Product information
This apron was created based on the analysis of Scandinavian archaeologists and finds from the early medieval trading site at Hedeby/Haithabu, Denmark. Similar "Smokkr" or "Apron dresses" were worn by Scandinavian and Slavic women of various social classes. The material, color, and finish of the apron emphasized the wearer's status.
- The apron is sewn according to the traditional early medieval cut and consists of four parts: a straight body and side panels, which give it a wider shape and ease of movement.
- The long shoulder straps can be fastened with oval brooches. Theys are trimmed in the traditional, historical way.
- The top of the apron is adorned with linen and silk trims.
The product is machine-sewn, with edges overlocked in our workshop in Otwock, Poland. Each piece is made to order.
