Birka wool tunic for children
Birka wool tunic for children
- The offer includes the tunic only. Please read the product description for size, material, and other information.
Product information
This tunic was based on the analyses of Scandinavian archaeologists and finds from early medieval Birka. Similar garments were worn by both Viking Age Scandinavians and Slavs – men and children from various social classes. The material, color, and finish of the tunic emphasized the owner's status.
- The authentic early medieval cut gives the body of the tunic a classic, straight line, complemented by two side gores that beautifully widen the tunic from the waist, giving it a flowing appearance.
- Historical sleeves provide comfort and freedom of movement thanks to square gussets sewn under the arms, widening the upper part of the tunic. The sleeves taper slightly towards the wrists.
- The round neckline, cuffs, and hem are adorned with wool trim.
This product is machine-sewn in our workshop in Otwock, Poland. Each product is made to order.

Fabric & color
- This product is made of high-quality sheep wool, with a minimum 80% pure wool content. It is non-sheer and retains its shape. No lining.
- Due to the high turnover of fabrics among suppliers, we do not have a fixed color palette and work with materials available in stock. Often, these fabrics, for various reasons—from fabric size to material thickness —are unsuitable for specific products but work well with others. This helps us reduce textile waste and fully utilize the fabrics' potential. This doesn't guarantee the presence or absence of a visible weave, such as a herringbone pattern.
- If you are interested in specific colors or shades, please contact us in advance so we can select the right material.
- Colors may vary slightly due to fabric turnover among suppliers, lighting conditions, and screen settings.
Washing & care instructions
- Hand-wash only in cold water, using special, very gentle detergents designed for natural wool.
- Do not use bleach or stain removers!
- Do not spin dry quickly (it damages the seams and fibers).
- Dry vertically outdoors. Do not tumble dry.
- Can be ironed at a temperature suitable for wool, on a very delicate setting.
Returns & exchanges
- As a handmade workshop, we do not accept returns or exchanges, so please place your orders carefully. Our products are made from hand-cut fabrics, using our own patterns, and with an individual approach to each order. Please respect your time and ours.
- If the color or material is not what you expected, we cannot accept returns or exchanges. Please contact us in advance to let us know your preferences in the Fabrics & Colors section. We are not responsible for any mistakes or omissions.
- We do not accept returns if the product arrives later than expected or is no longer needed. Preparation time is available in the menu, and delivery times depend on the method chosen – we are not responsible for this. For orders with a specific date, please contact us in advance.
