Scandinavian wool apron dress with 100% wool woven trim and handmade embroidery
- Apron - an outer piece of clothing typical of Scandinavian woman.
- Dating: early Middle Ages.
- Region: Scandinavia.
- Made to order..
A Viking apron is the basic element of Scandinavian women's clothing, worn over the main dress or directly over a bottom dress. The remains of the apron have been found at many archaeological sites, including the necropolis of the trading emporium in Hedeby and the necropolis of Birka. They are also confirmed in iconographyp>
The apron is made of thin wool with four parts widening downwards. It is sewn according to a simple, early medieval cut. There are two loops on the front for attaching the harness. The length without the harness is about 98 cm. It is hung on a harness, which is fastened with a turtle brooch (not included in the set).
Decorated with hems in a contrasting color, top hem is decorated with an additional 100% wool entirely hand-woven trim using the historical method of weaving on tablets.
The bottom is decorated entirely with hand-made embroidery made from cream thick woolen thread.
The offer includes just an apron dress. Wool dress and other items don't come with apron. The same colors as in the picture may not be available. Check our fabric category.
